The Catenian Association Kidderminster and District Circle No: 309
We’re a group of Catholic laymen brought together by our faith, love for family, and a desire to help others while enjoying great company. Basically, we’re all about building friendships, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs, and making family life even better. Every month (on the third Wednesday, to be exact), we meet up at the Wharton Park Golf & Country Club, just outside Kidderminster. After the meeting, there’s a meal and plenty of time to chat and relax in a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. If you’re curious about the Catenians or visiting from another Circle, we’d love to have you join us! Outside of our regular meetups, we plan all kinds of fun activities for members and their families—think shared meals, barbecues, picnics, theatre trips, and sports days. It’s all about spending quality time together and creating memories that stick with you.
Charitable work
We’re not mainly a fundraising group, but hey, we love supporting great causes! Every year, our President picks a charity, and all the money we raise throughout the year goes straight to them.
For 2025/26, our President, Charles Villa, is throwing his weight behind a fantastic cause: “Our Way.” This awesome charity in Kidderminster is all about empowering people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. They create a safe, welcoming space where folks can grow, connect, and speak up for themselves. They’ve got loads going on—fun projects, engaging sessions, and lively clubs and groups—making sure there’s constant support and opportunities for everyone.
We, the Kidderminster Catenians, are super excited to back Our Way in their amazing work, helping them reach even more people and grow their brilliant programs!
.
We also support a number of events for young people.
Public speaking competitions with annual regional and national events.
Bursary fund, supporting young people seeking to make a difference to others.
Financial grant made to assist a young Catholic who wishes to undertake some individual project by volunteering to do something wonderful for someone else.
Flame we’re proud to support this big national get-together where young people can dive into exploring and expressing their faith.

Celebrating 40 Years of Dedication
At our October meeting, our President, Dr Ian Reed, had the honour of recognizing two of our most esteemed Brothers—Eddie Barry and Gerry Crow—for reaching an extraordinary milestone: 40 years of dedicated membership in our Association.
To commemorate this achievement, Dr Reed proudly presented each of them with a special scroll, a symbol of their unwavering commitment and lasting contributions over the decades. Their dedication and service continue to inspire us all, reflecting the true spirit of our Association.
